gender equality issues

Whatever we do, our whole life is permitted with gender equality issues. Achieving gender equality is important for the sustainable development of the society. However, gender balance is not only an ethical principle, it’s also an important factor for effective economic development.

Numerous studies show that in almost all countries women face difficulties in the field of gender equality issues. They still bear the brunt of unpaid but unavoidable domestic work and child bringing-up. Moreover, this situation is often associated with stereotypes of public consciousness. In many countries the traditional role of a woman as a housewife who looks after children at home is still dominant.

In many countries of the world the last decades of the XXth century were a period of significant advances in addressing gender equality issues, especially with regard to access to economic, political and educational resources, as well as significant advances in overcoming traditional ideas about social roles, personal characteristics of women and men.

It is very important that the solution of gender equality issues must not go against the family, traditions and integrity of society, namely, in the interests of their maintenance, oriented not towards the “war of the genders” that turns women and men into the victims of oppression and discrimination, but towards a national civil peace.
