Sportswomen often boasts not by the level of skill, experience and characteristics of its competitors, but also, for example, their beauty. Currently, some sportswomen worldwide are considered to be truly popular, attractive and pretty.
1. Samantha Bricio
Samantha was born in Guadalajara (Jalisco) in a sport-loving family – her father played basketball and mother played volleyball, probably influencing Samantha’s career choice. Her debut victory was at the national Mexican Olympic Games in 2008.
Subsequently, she had the opportunity to play for 3 Mexican teams at once: national, youth and junior. After 2013 Samantha stopped being a part of several teams at once, since then she was the member of the Mexican adult team and was certainly its leader. In 2018, she competed in the World Championships with the Mexican team.
2. Sabina Altynbekova
Sabina is from Aktobe, Kazakhstan. Since early childhood, she has been active and athletic. At the age of 5 Sabina began dancing. At the age of 14 she fell in love with volleyball. She played in “Kazchrome” playing the captain role, and since16 she became a member of “Almatinochka-Almaty”.
Sabina became very popular on the Internet, a lot of people claimed that she belonged to the modeling world, some compared her to anime characters and actresses. Videos of her on social media went viral.
3. Zehra Gunesh
Zehra Gunesh was born in the Kartal district of Istanbul province. She has 4 younger sisters, and they are familiar with volleyball.
Zehra began her sports career at the age of 13, playing for Vakifbank. She lasted 3 seasons for it before being loaned to the BBSK Istanbul club. After a year had passed, she returned to Vakifbank.
Zehra successfully worked for Turkey’s U18 national team, which reached the semifinals in 2015 and finished 4th in the finals. She then took part in the FIVB Under-18 Volleyball World Championships, where she got herself the title of Best Middle Blocker.
4. Louisa Lippmann
Louise was born in Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She began her introductions with volleyball in Herford, but later moved to Bielefeld. In both cities, she was a member of the youth team.
In 2010 Louise was hired by USC Münster, and since 2014 she has been a major player for the German national team. She has participated in the World Championships twice, as well as the European Championships, also twice. Lippmann currently plays for Kaliningrad club Lokomotiv.
She is a 4-time German champion and the most valuable German player of the championship.
5. Natalia Goncharova
Natalya was born in the town of Skole, Stryi district, Lviv region of Ukraine. She started playing in Ivano-Frankivsk. She was a member of junior and youth national teams of Ukraine. In 2005 there was European Champion among juniors. Then, she became a 4-time Russian Champion.
In some seasons, Natalia played together with her sister Valeria. According to the opinion of the head coaches of the Super League teams, she was named the best player of Russian championships four times. Natalia also won the title of the Best Diagonal Forward Grand Prix 2015.
6. Kelsey Robinson
Kelsey Robinson was born in Elmhurst, DuPage County, Illinois, USA. Kelsey has shown an interest in volleyball since high school. She played for her university team in collegiate competition, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The first professional club she joined was ‘Beijin Bike Motors’. Then she played nationally with ‘Imoko Volley’ and ‘Vakifbank’ teams.
Since 2014, Kelsey Robinson has played for the U.S. national team and won the 2020 Olympics, the 2015 Grand Prix, the League of Nations (three times), and the 2015 NORCECA Championships for her.
7. Michele Gumabao
Michelle Gumabao was born in San Mateo, California. She was introduced to sports at an early age, as her father is a former PBA player, but began playing volleyball herself at university.
Since 2010-2013, she was a member of the De La Salle University women’s volleyball team in Manila. Her team won the University Athletic Association of the Philippines three times that year. During her athletic career, she was twice named the top blocker of the season and the most valuable player of the final during the season.
Michelle is also an excellent model-she competed in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant in 2018, where she was one of the top 15 finalists, and in 2020 with a second-place finish.
8. Winifer Fernandez
Vinifer was born in Cienfuegos in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She began her journey in volleyball when she was only 10 y.o. The most valuable qualities she possesses are agility, speed and intelligence.
Winifer is a renowned Dominican volleyball player who has been recognized many times as her country’s Volleyball Player of the Year. She took the first place at the 2016 Pan American Cup and was runner-up in 2015.
She won North American, Central American and Caribbean championships. Winifer has been a member of the Dominican national team since 2012 and has competed with her at the World Grand Prix.
9. Alice Manenok
Alisa has been interested in sports since childhood. For eleven years she was involved in swimming and only then she tried volleyball. Alice played for the local club ‘Primorsky’ in the youth and junior teams, later – with the university team.
But after her passion for sports, she decided to try her hand at modeling. She has competed in Miss Beautiful Body, Supermodel International and World Beauty Queen contests.
10. Jaqueline Carvalho
Jacqueline is a Brazilian volleyball player. She made her debut with Gremio de Volais Osasco in 2002, then moved to play in Europe.
Jacqueline Carvalho is a gold, silver and bronze medalist in two Olympics, World Volleyball Championships, World Grand Prix and other competitions.
Athletically built people are often considered attractive. But it is important to judge a volleyball player not based only on his or her appearance, but also by skills and effort. However, the appearance and the popularity of some players allowed them to change their career and opened them up for new possibilities.
